Dr Phillip Ngu from Heart Clinic Melbourne joined the team at Casey Specialist Centre in 2019.
Phillip is a General and Non-invasive Imaging Cardiologist who specialises in cardiac imaging and general cardiology.
He completed his medical degree with Honours at Monash University in 2007, undertook his residency and cardiology training at the Alfred and Monash hospitals, and completed his cardiac imaging fellowship at the Alfred Hospital in 2017.
Phillip’s passion is in clinical cardiology and patient care where he uses multi-modality imaging to better understand disease and improve patient outcomes. His particular imaging qualifications are in echocardiography (resting, stress and transoesophageal), CT coronary angiography and cardiac MRI.
Phillip works publicly at the Alfred Hospital and admits patients privately to St John of God Berwick and Cabrini Hospital Malvern.

Hi, my name is Dr Phillip Ngu,
I am a cardiologist born and trained in Melbourne, Australia and I love my job. Taking care of patients is a real privilege and above all I value my patients understanding their own disease so they can take control of their own health.
I am a ‘non-invasive imaging cardiologist’ which means that I have done further study as a cardiologist to specialise in cardiac imaging – echocardiography, cardiac CT and cardiac MRI. These skills have allowed me to better care for patients by being able to choose the right test for the right patient, provide accurate and patient centred results and come to the right diagnosis.
While we do charge an out of pocket fee for cardiac consultations, we believe these fees are affordable and they allow us to provide all our cardiac investigations (echo, stress testing, holter monitors) without any out of pocket cost to patients. All out of pocket expenses will be explained by our staff prior to your appointment, usually in writing except for urgent appointments where patients are informed at the time of booking.
